We cannot remove the chaos, hardship, and uncertainty of military life, but as military spouses we can learn to rise above. The hot air balloon in the KSC logo reminds us of our ability to navigate the crosswinds, rise above our challenges and broaden our horizons.
The roadrunner symbolizes the courage it takes to be a military spouse. Pueblo tribes around Albuquerque revered roadrunners for the bird’s strength, endurance and fearlessness. (These birds are tough enough to hunt rattlesnakes!) Our roadrunner reminds us to face our “rattles” with a positive attitude. Roadrunners are also good luck charms! We hope having this one nearby will bring good fortune to our members.
The hot air balloon and roadrunner are both beloved Albuquerque icons and the KSC logo links them with a circle of inclusion. A circle of friends is central to what KSC stands for!
